Our shelf GRID criteria of ecological design are durability, material efficiency, use of renewable raw materials and low levels of harmful substances.
In the design of the shelf, we take into account the plywood sheets size to save the material, so all the material is used for production, no waste at all. Birch plywood itself is renewable material, which is coming from the forests near us.
As the material is so strong, we can save forests, cause the furniture can be used for generations, just new layer of oilwax to shine again. If people move to a new place, the same furniture can be mounted and assembled again.

All the materials are very ecological from renewable forests and everything is produced in Tallinn, Estonia, so we have also very low environmental effect on shipment across Europe. As birch plywood is so strong material, we can use very thin layers (12-16mm) to have very durable shelves for books etc.
Radis`designer Raul Abner wanted to design very durable and modular shleving system, that based on the design can be used in very different interiors. Because of several size options, doors possibility and material tone variety it can be so and we have already received very good feedback all over Europe from Finland to Switzerland.
